A special exhibition taking place at the Tochigi Prefectural Museum of Art looks into the trends of nanga throughout the prefecture. Nanga is a school of art which grew in the late Edo period, and typically consisted of works in monochrome ink.
The event will have a specific focus on works by Tani Buncho (1763 - 1841), who was seen as a driving force behind nanga in the Kanto region.
Adult admission to the event is priced at 900 yen.
