Koichi Kurita and Yoshihiro Suda are two contemporary artists who are active not just in Japan, but on an international level. A special event at the Yamanashi Museum of Art looks at their works, centering around the theme of finding contentment in the details.
Both of the artists have some extremely unique pieces. Kurita is known for his "Soil Library" project, where he collects a handful of soil from the places he visits and displays it - the colors and textures truly show just how diverse the earth's landscapes are. Yoshihiro Suda is heralded for his hyper-realistic wood sculptures of plants and flowers.
