The Sakura Festival lanterns are lit up at night. They are supposed to be very beautiful; however, I had to return to Tokyo before that

The castle grounds in the Sakura season attract a lot of crowds, hence it is advisable to visit on the weekdays when the crowds are thin and you can enjoy the blossoms much more at leisure.

During the cherry blossom season, which begins in the last week of March and lasts about until the first week of April, Nagoya Castle attracts many visitors for hanami (cherry blossom viewing). I find it wonderful when culture and nature blend into each other like this. It's supposed to be even more beautiful in the evening, when the castle and blossoms are illuminated.
