Every autumn, Sagamihara City comes alive with the energy of Yosakoi RANBU!, a dynamic festival that has become a seasonal highlight in Minami Ward. Held around Kobuchi Station on the JR Yokohama Line, the event gathers dozens of yosakoi dance teams from inside and outside the city, bringing together vibrant costumes, energetic choreography, and rhythmic music.

The festivities typically begin with a grand "So-odori," an opening dance where all teams take to the pedestrianized street in front of Kobuchi Station to perform in unison. Throughout the day, each team presents its own unique routine, blending tradition with creativity and setting the stage for a lively celebration. The atmosphere builds to the spectacular finale, a general dance where every team joins together once again, creating a wave of music, movement, and color.
Alongside the dance performances, local food stalls line the streets, offering classic festival snacks and treats prepared by neighborhood associations and shops. The combination of music, dance, and food makes the event both a community celebration and a welcoming experience for visitors.
The festival has grown into one of Sagamihara's most beloved cultural traditions, attracting tens of thousands of spectators each year. As traffic restrictions are put in place during the event, organizers encourage attendees to use public transportation for easy access.
