Electric Wire Art Exhibition 2021

From Kiyochika Kobayashi to Akira Yamaguchi

Venue: Nerima Art Museum When: Feb 28th - Apr 18th 2021

A special event taking place at the Nerima Art Museum looks at an interesting, niche topic when it comes to art — the presence of electric wires and utility poles in different works. While oftentimes these wires and poles are seen as a blight on a landscape, there is often a nostalgic, hometown element to them, too.

The exhibition will showcase a variety of works that span from the early Meiji era to the present day, from the likes of Kiyochika Kobayashi, Ryusei Kishida, Gentaro Kogure, and Akira Yamaguchi to name just a handful.

Adult admission to the event is priced at 1,000 yen.

Cómo llegar

The Nerima Art Museum is located just three minutes on foot from Nakamurabashi Station, which is served by the Seibu Ikebukuro Line.

For those who are planning to drive, there is no dedicated parking lot for the museum. Public transport is advised whenever possible, but there are paid parking lots in the surrounding area.
