After leaving Kurama Station and its magnificent cedar trees, there is a long steep climb up a set of elegant stairs to the temple. The temple grounds are spacious, and filled with cherry trees that bloom from mid-April to early May. I was able to catch the tail-end of them. Kurama Temple is famous as a power spot. I didn't feel anything, but apparently a lot of people do. The temple's guardian protectors are fearsome and beautiful, as is the dragon at the purification font - one of the most beautiful I have seen.
